Phyllis Johnson, of Shoreacres, was one of them. But thanks to the Harris County Homeowner Disaster Recovery Program, there is hope for her and others. The program has already received applications for more than half of the available $56 million dollars. But along with the balance, Harris County will be getting a second round of funding to the tune of $39 million.

Harris County Officials announce details about the Homeowner Disaster Recovery Program which will provide disaster recovery funds to eligible applicants. Tuesday October 6 marked the grand opening of the Housing Assistance Center in Clear Lake, Harris County, where applicants can now go to apply for the program. $43 million in federal grant funds are available to help repair and rebuild Ike damaged homes.

This means that homeowners meeting the eligibility criteria will soon be able to apply for funds.
